Fellow alumni, it is a privilege and an honor for me to have this opportunity to be your Director of the NWC Alumni Association and to seek your support. Last August, I came on board as CAPT Gary Cooper, ’03, left to spend more time in Colorado…imagine leaving DC in order to spend more time in Colorado. A much smarter man than me as I have lived in the DC area since 1982. As this is my first report, I would like to bring you up to date on what General Speedy Martin and the Alumni Board of Directors is doing to make us more relevant to you and the College.

We have good news for you. The famous National War College Alumni Washington area seminars have returned to Roosevelt Hall. They have been “missing in action” for the last year and a half, but they returned on February 21st with Dr. David Tretler discussing The War of 1812, marking the 200th anniversary of that conflict. It was a tough time for the new nation, and the conflicts on many fronts made names like Perry, Jackson, Dolly Madison, Old Ironsides, and more resonate 200 years later.
